The Mars Cube One or MarCO CubeSats are twin small spacecraft that accompanied the InSight lander on its mission to the red planet. MarCO-A and MarCO-B relayed the first radio transmissions from InSight as it landed on Mars and sent back the first pictures from the surface. Both CubeSats then continued on to orbit the Sun after completing their mission. Cube satellites are based on a small standardized modular technology that can be used to build inexpensive spacecraft systems for Earth orbit or interplanetary travel. myMarsSpace
